A recent update to Adobe's PDF Reader has caused PDF containers in Filemaker applications to give this error: 'the acrobat pdf browser plugin is missing. please reinstall adobe acrobat to fix this problem'.
The Fix for many has been to revert to an older version of Adobe PDF Reader.
To do this, first uninstall your current version of Adobe Reader:
1. Open the Start Menu, and type in 'Add or Remove Programs' and open it.
You should be brought to the Apps & Features screen, where you can find Adobe Reader. Click it and select 'Uninstall'.
Once Reader is uninstalled, you can download an older version here: AcroRdrDC1901220034_en_US.exe
Install Adobe Reader, then go into the Start Menu and type 'Services'.
In Services, find 'Adobe Acrobat Update Service. Right Click and hit 'Stop', then go into 'Properties'.
In Properties, there should be a drop down list for the 'Startup Type', this should also be disabled to keep it from updating each time the PC restarts.
Once this is all done, reboot your PC and you should be able to add and view PDF files in iRestore.
